The Entire Wall

THEN......

NOW!!!

The Lion

The giant lions in the square of London are great! I couldn't figure out what my last piece was going to be and I was thinking about lions because that's my high school's mascot and then the lions in the square of London came to me. This is it...the end!

Total months 7 months 160 hours total.

London Eye

The London Eye in England; the biggest fariswheel in the world! Though I can't lie, it kind of got borning after 15 minutes because it goes so slow. :)

Winged Victory @ the Louvre

This is one of the first statues at the Louvre in France. It's a gorgeous statue. Don't ask why it doesn't have a head. When I read up on the history, I'll edit this post. This my over-all favorite piece on my mural.

Flanders Fields

We all know the poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCabe, at least I hope we all do. I went to Flanders Fields and the WW! Museum in Belgium and I had to incorporate this two ideas on my mural. It's such a beautiful and heartfelt poem and the poppy is a perfect touch I feel.

Anne Frank

Now, I know what your thinking...what the heck? Let me explain. Visiting Anne Frank's home in Amsterdam, Netherlands was one of the most influential, terrifying, emotional, and inspiring moments in my life. Sadly, no cameras were allowed inside the building. I contmeplated painting Anne Frank herself on the wall, but it just didn't seem right. I remembered this little section of a wall outside of the home and decided to paint it. I thought it was a good idea because it was mimimalistic and caught the eye of the observer and left them wondering why the artist did this.

Rhine River Castle, Der Mauseturm

This castle was so original. I probably saw over 150 castles on the Rhine River, but this one was extermely original. The other castles were great, dont get me wrong, but the colors on this castle were awesome!

Swiss Alps

I climbed mountains like this when I was staying in Scoul, Switzerland. I enjoyed the Swiss Alps and the high adventures it offered i.e. rafting and rock climbing. It reminded me of Scott Valley, just even higher elevation. A picture of Swiss Alps is worth a 1,000 words, but actually being there is worth a 1,000,000!

Dutch Windmill

The Dutch Windmill is an outstanding structure. It's so large and is always so beautiful no matter how it is! I'll never forget taking a bike ride through the paths of meadows were over 100 windmills surrounded me how amazing the experience was. I felt so free!

Normandy Cemetery

What words could even describe Normandy Cemetery? It's impossible. One has to be there to capture the right emotion. If one every does go to see Normandy Cemetery you will need two things: tissues and your ipod so you can listen to John Lennon's song Imagine over and over again.

Le Gladiator by Monier

I discovered this statue in the garden of Versailles. This statue almost brought me to tears. It's so breathtaking and Monier is one of my favorite sculptors of all time. I had to add the cloth over his body so it was more "school appropriate," just to avoid any issues. Despite this minor change, I'm really proud of this piece because it my first person that I ever painted.

World Peace Flame

The World Peace Flame! Just ouside of Amsterdam. It was gorgeous palace, it was a bummer I could go inside of the palace, but I did get to see the World Peace Flame. I aws really proud of the marble texture/appeal that is shown on the wall. I really just winged this piece and let my creativitiy flow. It's a favorite.

Dutch Dairy Farm

Oh the Dutch Dairy Farm! Can say that they made the most delicious cheese ever! They place looked, smelled, and tasted just like a Dutch Dairy Farm should!!!

Love Lake

Though I added my own color and creativity, Love Lake is beautiful. The tree's and belgian horse cariges make the place so peaceful. Belgium reminded me of my grandmothers house, just a whole country :)

Omaha Beach

If my memory serves me right, this statue is called Wings of Victory. This statue is on the beach of Normandy and Omaha. It's so gorgeous to see in person. I encourage anyone who is traveling to France to go to Normandy! Yes, even before the Eiffel Tower!

Dutch Graffiti

Holland, Netherlands! I found this wonderful spray painting in an alley way of Holland. If you've ever been there, then you know how amazing their graffiti is and have seen how much time they put into their art work. By the way, I figured out that the little blue guy may be a platapus, but I'm not positive.

Notre Dame

Notre Dame!!!

Again, when I did this, I thought I was going to hate this picture. I was skeptical of how it would turn out. In the end it had a haunting look and it really added to the gothic architecture.

Big Ben

Starting from the right of the wall....

Big Ben from London, England! Simple yet fun colors!!

When I first did this, I thought I would hate it, but I really enjoy looking at the bright colors and how it centers in on the tower.

Update....

So I haven't put any new art pieces on my blog recently because I have been working very hard on my Senior Project Mural. I am glad to report that it is pretty much done! I have minor touch ups that I would like to fix before I reveal it to the public. Not many have seen my mural, but I will be presenting it to the public on May 2 for Senior Project Display Night. I may do some "teasers" for the mural for those who follow this blog! Come to Display Night and see it in person and I'd love to share with everyone about my mural!
Love&Peace

Omaha

The whole canvas! This looks small compared to the real deal!! I forgot to mention that the silver structure is a statue that is actually on the beach. It's very breath taking to be there. I can't believe that ocean was completely red at one point, sad really.

Omaha

This is Omaha Beach in Normandie, France. And no I did not spell Normandie wrong, that's how it's spelled in France and I like it! This is the third piece I have done on Omaha. I have a Pencil, a painting with a blue sky, and this one "Sunrise on Omaha." I love it! Not bad painting on canvas for the first time! Comment and tell me how you like it!

Cake Decorating

A more upclose look at the roses. If anyone ever wants a cake for any occasion and they want it at a very cheap price, let me know!

Cake Decorating

I recently discovered that I LOVE making cakes and other goodies. This is my first 3 tier cake and my first experience with fondant. Yes, the roses are edible and I made them by hand!

Printmaking

A dragon! Just in case you couldn't tell. :D

Printmaking

I have not done very much printmaking because it takes so long to make sure you get every cut deep enough and every detail. I love the results however.

Random

I remember loving this when I was a freshman. I don't know where I got the idea. Looking at is kind of scares me now lol. However, it must of been just creativity + inspiration at the time.

Charcoal

We did this project last year in art and it was supposed to be song inspired. I believe my song was "Misguied Ghosts" by Paramore

Animals

Parrots. I think they're adorable.

Animals

Working on my animals techniques. Porportions are very important!

Animals

I love animals, especially kittens. Well, not as much as ducks, but you get the point!

Senior Project

Norte Dame! It's quite impossible to get every detail of Notre Dame, but I'm pretty proud of what I caught.

Senior Project

Dutch Graffitti, which I love!

Senior Project

A Dutch Dairy farm that was in The Netherlands. I have to say the drawings are not as good as the paintings.

Senior Project

I went to Europe in the summer of 2010 and my senior project is based on the pictures I took there. I'm painting a mural in my High School in the cafeteria. I can't wait to share what I've painted and the finished product. This is Love Lake in Belgium.
Alyssa from The Agonist. She's awesome! I think her porportions turned out funny now that I look at it, but again this was a long time ago.
I apologize for the blurriness, but yes this is Avril Lavigne. Don't tease me! :) I did this many many years ago.
Another one of Amy Lee, definitely not as good as my first one in my opinion.

By no means am I good at doing portraits, but I believe I did this many many years ago and it was my first. I have this werid obsession with Amy Lee, her face is so easy and beautiful to draw.
